After Christmas Thoughts

Well Christmas 2010 has come and gone in a flash.  I hope you enjoyed time with friends and loved ones!  For me it was a mixture of good and bad.  I so enjoyed preparing for my family to come and seeing all their happy faces when they came over.  However, just about the time we started opening gifts I got violently sick with a stomach bug and had to make a quick exit before we finished with the gifts.  I felt like the grinch that stole Christmas!  Now, I'm praying they don't get it too!

I always love Christmas and I have enjoyed writing my Advent devotionals.  It has helped to keep me focused on what it is all about.  Love that is deep and wide and unconditional.  It's a love that is giving and forgiving.  It's a love that is full of grace and mercy.  It is a love that is the ultimate sacrifice!  It is a love that is beyond anything we can ever imagine.

I wrote these devotionals out of love,  More than just a blog, I wanted to put all of this in writing so that my children and grandchildren can read my thoughts someday when I am not here.  I love them so much and I want every Christmas of their lives to be soaked in His love.  I pray they will always love Him above all else and that they will focus on that love all through each Christmas season of their lives.  I pray they will then share His love with everyone they come in contact with through smiles, hugs, pats on the back, gifts to the needy and other acts of kindness.  I pray they never forget the "reason for the season."

John 13:35
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Prayer:  Thank you God for your gift of Jesus and for your gift to me of my family!
