JOY to the World!

I've thought a lot about joy this week.  I previously wrote that I have quite a ways to go in order to learn how to experience joy in the midst of my trials and fearful times.  However, I do realize that joy, as opposed to happiness, doesn't depend on the circumstances of our lives.  It depends instead on the condition of our souls.  When we repent of our sins and ask Jesus to be the Lord of our lives, we can experience that unexplainable joy that will carry us into eternity!  It doesn't mean we won't ever be sad.  To me, it means that even though I am sometimes sad I can be joyous because I know that someday in Heaven with Jesus I will never be sad again.  That IS the "good news of great JOY!"

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.
