Is Everybody Happy?

One of the most wonderful thoughts about Heaven to me is that there will be soooooooo much joy there!  Actually, there will only be joy there.   No more sorrows, worries. or other negative emotions.  Doesn't that just take your breath away?

During the Christmas season there is usually a lot of joy for most of us.  But sadly, there are many who will be anything but joyful.  For many Christmas will be a time of grief because they have lost a cherished loved one.  Others will be miserable because of family conflicts.  Abuse of alcohol and drugs will make the season a frightful time for some families.  Thousands of older adults will spend lonely holidays because no one will visit or even call them during the holidays.

While we should enjoy this wonderful time of the year, we Christians should be especially mindful of thhose around us who are joy-less.  Our prayers for them are good but our kind actions will put arms of love and feet of compassion to our prayers.

You know Jesus told us that loving others is the way for us to have complete joy in the following verses from John 15:
9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

To keep His command to love others will make our joy complete and bring joy to the joy-less!

Prayer:  Jesus please open our eyes to the emotional and physical needs of those around us and motivate us to reach out to them.
